Its entrance is a concrete dome that was itself controversial when it appeared on the pavement, and the passages below were built so the ministry could keep working through an attack.

The exhibition inside is about the Sigurimi, the state security apparatus, and about the interior ministry's own record from 1912 onwards: surveillance methods, the prison and camp system, and the people who passed through it. It takes an hour or so, which makes it the easier of the pair to fit into a walk around the square.
