It stands in Rinia Park, the central public garden on the west side of the boulevard, rather than on the square, which is why many visitors walk past the park without knowing it is there.

The piece is abstract and contemporary rather than figurative, a deliberate contrast to the bronze horseman a few hundred metres away, and it reads most clearly from the boulevard side. It is a short detour for anyone walking from the square to the Blloku, and the natural place to pause for anyone tracing the story told inside the National History Museum.
