Tirana Parks & gardens

The Grand Park is the city's outdoor room: around two hundred and thirty hectares of pine and cypress wrapped around an artificial lake, twenty minutes on foot from Skanderbeg Square. A path circles the water, and the eastern side holds the zoo, the botanical garden and a small church. Sunday morning is when the whole city seems to be there.

Rinia Park is smaller and more central, a green block just off the boulevard used mainly as a shortcut and a meeting point. Between the two, the boulevard itself is planted heavily enough to be a linear park in its own right.
