Things to See in Tirana
Skanderbeg Square, the Bunk'Art museums, the Pyramid, the Grand Park and the cable car up Mount Dajti.
Tirana's sights are unusually concentrated and almost all of them speak to the same subject: what forty-six years of isolation did to a country and what it has done since. Skanderbeg Square anchors the centre, ringed by the National History Museum, the Et'hem Bey Mosque and the Clock Tower.
South of it the boulevard runs past the Pyramid, built as a museum to Enver Hoxha and now rebuilt as a youth centre you can climb. The Bunk'Art museums, set inside genuine nuclear bunkers, are the strongest thing in the city. Beyond the built centre, the Grand Park and the Dajti cable car give you the green half of a visit.
