Walking Tours in Tirana
Tirana is a walking city and its history is the reason to take a guide. The standard route links Skanderbeg Square, the National History Museum facade, the Et'hem Bey Mosque, the boulevard, the Pyramid, the Postbllok memorial and Blloku, taking two to three hours at an easy pace.
What makes it worth booking rather than doing alone is the commentary: many guides are old enough to remember the closed quarter and the queues, and several of the best tours are run by people whose families were directly affected. Free walking tours operate daily from Skanderbeg Square on a tips basis.
