Tirana Breakfast & brunch
Breakfast and Brunch in Tirana
Breakfast in Tirana has two speeds. The traditional version is byrek and a coffee taken standing at a counter, often before seven, with the pastry cut from a tray and sold by weight. Bakeries all over the city do this and are usually the cheapest thing you will eat all day.
The second version is a Blloku invention: eggs, avocado, pancakes and filter coffee served until mid-afternoon, aimed at a younger crowd and at visitors. Weekend tables in that quarter fill from around eleven. Hotels serve buffets, but the counters and bakeries are where the city actually eats.
